Susie Sue, the Banshee

In the swamps that surround Ottersricht, they say there are places even the mutants won't go--places where the dead return to steal the souls of the living!

-Jurgen Oppenheimer, Ottersricht merchant

I'm back this week, feeling somewhat over my cold. That thing was a pain in the ass. Anyway, I've been slowly working on the nighthaunts from the AoS 2.0 box. But before I started them, I knocked out a couple of test models. For all these models, I am blatantly stealing Tyler Mengel's methods that he outlined here and here.

The first model I tried was a ghost from Mantic's Dungeon Saga. I went a little heavy on the wash. But otherwise, came out super easy.

Comparing the Banshee, I went way thinner on the Nihilakh Oxide. I also used the new Hexwraith Flame on her hands and eyes to simulate a glow from her magical nature. I also used the Nighthaunt Gloom for her hair. My judgement on that is Nighthaunt Gloom needs to be thinned way more to be useful. All-in-all, this is a very easy paint scheme. I think I spent more time correcting a screwup on her cloak (from painting the base) than I did painting the entire rest of the model.

  1. Fantastic name! It's actually a crime there haven't been more Banshees puns in Nighthaunt character names. =D

    1. Thanks! And quite frankly I couldn't believe I was the first (publicly) to think of such an easy one

    1. Quite welcome. It's super easy, I've done another half a unit already and they were finished really quickly.

  3. Lovely ethereal effect on these mate! The subtle differences in shade between the greens used adds lots of depth.
